SCI relies on donations and events to raise funds to support its programs serving mariners. With over 90% of goods coming to us by waterborne transportation, mariners play a crucial role in global commerce and have a tremendous impact on our daily lives, yet most people remain unaware of the important contributions mariners make.

Your generous support helps benefit mariners through SCI’s important programs including on board Chaplain visits to thousands of vessels in the Port of New York and New Jersey and along 10,000 miles of America’s inland waterways extending into the Gulf of Mexico; hospitality and transportation services at our International Seafarers’ Center in Port Newark; legal advocacy for all merchant mariners; and navigational training to nearly 1,800 mariners annually through simulator-based training at our facilities in Houston, TX and Paducah, KY.
